Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids: An ACT! for Youth and Arts Council of Wilson Performing Arts Camp
ACT! for Youth Performing Arts Camp
Performance: Saturday, August 3 at 2pm, Show tickets: $5
Grades K-8 *
The sleeping Disney princess, her fairy friends and her handsome prince face off against the evil Maleficent in this adaptation of the classic Disney animated film. It’s Princess Aurora’s sixteenth birthday and her fairy friends - Flora, Fauna and Merryweather - must use their magic to save her from the spell of the evil sorceress, Maleficent! The fairies ensure that Aurora only falls into a deep sleep that can be ended with a kiss from her betrothed, Prince Phillip. To prevent Phillip from rescuing Aurora, Maleficent kidnaps and imprisons him. The good fairies are the last hope to free Phillip so that he can awaken Aurora.
Campers will experience all aspects of staging and performing a play, from set construction and costuming to acting. This would be the perfect entrance into our ACT! for Youth program for any child who has been curious to try acting (or a great opportunity for those already familiar with the program to brush up on their skills and help mentor others!).
*Children are only eligible to register for camps for the grade range they have just completed in the 2018-2019 school year
